The Second Wave Motorised Pedestal Model 30 with Dolly is a mobile camera pedestal with motorised height adjustment, a triple-section column and a load capacity of up to 30 kg. The supplied Dolly 2 enables the complete camera setup to be positioned on suitable level studio floors.

The camera height can be continuously adjusted between 82 and 260 cm using the supplied wired remote control. Three height positions can be stored and recalled directly. This makes it easy to switch between preset camera heights, different presenters or changing production setups.

Motorised height adjustment for cameras and teleprompters
Thanks to its load capacity of 30 kg, the Motorised Pedestal can support professional cameras, camera heads and teleprompter systems within the permitted total weight. The height can be adjusted smoothly at 40 mm/s without manually changing the tripod setup.

This is particularly beneficial when using studio teleprompters. The camera and teleprompter can be moved together to a suitable height for seated or standing presenters. An integrated spirit level supports precise horizontal alignment.

The Dolly 2 makes the complete camera setup mobile within the studio. This allows the Motorised Pedestal to be repositioned without having to remove the camera, camera head or teleprompter.

The missing fourth controllable axis for PTZ cameras
PTZ cameras already control three axes: pan, tilt and zoom. The Motorised Pedestal adds controllable camera height to these functions and therefore the missing fourth axis.

Different camera heights can be selected without direct intervention at the pedestal. This extends the creative and technical possibilities of PTZ productions and enables the camera position to be adapted to seated or standing presenters, different framing requirements and changing production situations.

AI‑READY and optionally network controllable
With the separately available Second Wave Robotic Data Box , the motorised height axis can be integrated into a network via VISCA and controlled from a central workstation. This provides the technical basis for integration into automated production workflows as well as open and closed AI systems.

The specific functions depend on the connected control software and the respective integration. Integrated AI image analysis is not included.

Integration into Bitfocus Companion is currently under development . Until development is complete, it is not part of the standard functionality.

Faster adjustments and position changes in everyday production
Motorised height adjustment reduces manual work on the camera support system. The operator can adjust the height using the wired remote control while monitoring the camera image. Three stored positions allow frequently used heights to be recalled directly.

The Dolly 2 allows the complete camera setup to be repositioned on suitable level floors. A wireless remote control is optionally available. The Mono-Lock system and adjustable central spreader support fast setup and stable positioning.
